Who we are

StoneRidge Roofing Ltd is a roofing company registered in England and Wales, trading in Canterbury and across east Kent. We are the data controller for the personal information described on this page. You can reach us at info@stoneridgeroofing.co.uk or on 07562690714.

What we collect

When you ask us for a quote, we collect what you give us:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number and email address
  • The address of the property the work relates to
  • What you tell us about the job, including any photographs you send

We also collect basic technical information automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.

If you reached us from one of our Google ads, we keep a record of that with your enquiry: the ad click reference Google adds to the link, the campaign details in the link, the page you first landed on and the site that sent you. This tells us which ads actually produce work.

We do not ask for payment card details through this website, and you should never send them to us by email.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and quote for work. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • To carry out and guarantee the work. Our lawful basis is performance of our contract with you.
  • To keep records for insurance, tax and guarantee claims. Our lawful basis is our legal obligations and our legitimate interest in being able to honour a 15-year guarantee.
  • To understand how the website is used. Our lawful basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw it at any time.
  • To measure which of our Google ads lead to enquiries and jobs. When you send an enquiry, and you have accepted cookies, your email address and phone number are scrambled (hashed) in your browser and sent to Google so it can match the enquiry to an ad click. Google cannot read them back. Our lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing to people who have only asked for a quote.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of service providers to run the website and our email. They process your information on our instructions only:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts and serves this website
  • Supabase, where quote enquiries are stored
  • Zoho ZeptoMail, which delivers the confirmation email to you and the notification to us
  • Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies
  • Google Ads, to measure which ads lead to enquiries, as described above

We may also share information where we are required to by law, or with our insurers if a claim is made.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are kept for up to two years, so that we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us. Records relating to work we have carried out are kept for the length of the guarantee plus six years, because that is how long a claim could reasonably be made. Analytics data is retained according to Google's own settings.

Cookies

The site sets only what it needs to function until you choose otherwise. Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies are only set after you press Accept in the banner. Until then Google receives only basic signals that set no cookies on your device. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or clear and block cookies in your browser, and the site will still work.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete it, where we do not need to keep it
  • Restrict or object to how we use it
  • Withdraw consent you have given

Email info@stoneridgeroofing.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top. See also our terms of service.
